About me

I was born in Lahore, Pakistan where I studied until A levels. I got my undergraduate education from UT Austin in Computer Science and thereafter worked at Sapient, Goldman Sachs, Citadel LLC & PIMCO. My focus has been developing software for financial trading firms.

I deeply enjoy designing and building systems by breaking complexities into simple tasks that coordinate together to produce the complex ask. My other passion is learning and continuously working on improving my soft and hard skills.

I work hard to create a culture of learning, growth, and constant improvement in teams that I lead where I model working with individuals to further enhance their hard and soft skills so they repeat the same with folks they mentor and coach.

In 2018 I moved to Austin, TX as one of the Tech Pioneers in PIMCO’s Austin office to transform Austin into a tech hub for PIMCO. I live here in Austin with my wife and two kids.

I teach competitive coding at https://www.sundarstem.edu.pk/, which is a school my family started in 2021 with the goal of helping Pakistan improve its performance in the Math and Computer Science Olympiads. In 2023, 4 out of 6 kids who represented Pakistan in the Math Olympiads were from this school. Additionally, the school’s computer science team since 2023 has been consistently winning university-level coding competitions across Pakistan.

My personal hobbies are mountain biking and kayaking. I love the thrill of riding my mountain bike down a steep mountain and the rush and excitement of pedaling a kayak through rapids.

See here two of my videos riding a mountain bike and kayaking.
